Mark has a full-scope private practice and clinical trial centre in Teneriffe, Brisbane QLD.  Mark Hinds Optometrists has dedicated specialty contact lenses, myopia control, and dry eye clinics (with a lead PhD qualified dry eye practitioner). 

Additionally, Mark is one of the principal investigators at Ophthalmic Trials Australia (OTA) and has numerous publications on his team’s work on pharmacological interventions notably for dry eye disease. OTA is one of Australia’s leading private dry eye clinical trial sites with numerous Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials completed and ongoing. 

He is a sessional lecturer at the School of Optometry and Vision Science at QUT and was fortunate enough to have received the QUT Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for Teaching in 2010 and 2013.  

From 2018 to current he oversees the Australian Professional Services and distribution for SynergEyes USA specialty hybrid contact lenses (APAC CooperVision Specialty Eye Care).  

He works in a consultant capacity with industry and pharma.
